I always try and have some simple syrup on hand for drinks and cocktails. Some of them simple and others flavored. Remember my Strawberry Rhubarb Simple Syrup? This Mint Simple Syrup is actually a very basic recipe that is traditionally used in Mint Juleps but you can also you it to liven up a glass of plain sparkling water.
Mint Simple Syrup
A fast and simple three ingredient mint simple syrup recipe for the home bartender. This recipe is allergy friendly (gluten, dairy, shellfish, nut, egg, and soy free) and suits the autoimmune protocol diet (AIP), paleo and vegan diets.
- Prep Time: 5 mins
- Cook Time: 10 mins
- Total Time: 15 mins
- Yield: 1 3/4 cups 1x
- 1 cups Water
- 1 cup Sugar (or Honey)
- 1 cup Mint Leaves
- Put everything in a small saucepan and heat over low.
- Stir and muddle the mint until the sugar dissolves.
- Let cool for at least 5 minutes before adding it to a sealed container while straining out the mint.
- Store in the refrigerator for up to 1 month.
